Meguiar’s Sponsors Auckland Morris Minor Club Run Date: 11/03/12

The Auckland Morris Minor Club held a combined Econorun and Quiz competition run out to member's (Dave & Barbar Coop) at Te Hana. Drivers had to drive their Morris Minors conserving as much petrol as they could to take out the prize in the Econorun. The second challenge for drivers and passangers on the run, was to find answers to the questions and clues given to them at the beginning of the run.

Unfortunately the weather has been quite fickel and although Saturday was fine and sunny we ended up with the day of the run being overcast and with some drizzle.  This probably deterred some members from coming but despite this 14 Morrie's braved the weather along with one modern at “Coopville.”  Gail & Derek Goddard currently have an electrical problem in their Morris Minor so brought their modern.

Smits Group sponsored prizes for both events, being a Meguiar's Gold Class Wash and Wax kit for each 1st place winner, congratulations to Ted Dixon who drove to Te Hana and getting 45.36mpg, with a Bruce Hatrick who got 43.8mpg. Top effort!!

The winner's of the Quiz competition were Mick & Sue Guffogg, who also received a Meguiar's Gold Class Wash and Wax Kit for answering all eleven questions correctly, runners up missing only one correct question were Pauline and Colin Keesing.
